Recognize this teenager? * Mark closely *

I have to admit, when I first read this article I agreed with it. It isn’t fair that parents should have to do all the chores around the house, pay for everything,  drive their teenager around all the time, and on top of all that, have to work all day. It makes sense that their teenagers should be helping out more and paying for their own things. But, you have to remember that it goes both ways.

Teenagers have to go to school all day, have projects and work to do when they get home, and have to do a lot of the things that parents have to do. Teenagers aren’t able to just get in a car and drive wherever they please, and it is much harder to get a job that pays well when you don’t have a full education. Therefore, they look to their parents to drive them around and pay for the things that they want. After all, that is what has been happening their whole lives. Sometimes, we can get a little bit greedy, and just expect to get whatever we want, and not appreciate all that our parents do for us, but sooner or later we realize that we should be more thankful for what we have and not obsess over what we don’t have.

So, next time your teenager is driving you up the wall, remember to slow down, and remember that it isn’t any easier being a teenager, than it is being an adult.
